Research and development of real robotic solutions for assistive robotics for the elderly and those suffering from Mild Cognitive Impairments and dementia. This is a key step to developing a wide range of assistive technologies. The project adopts existing technologies from the robotics community, fusing them with user-centred design activities and practical validation, thus creating a step-change in robotics for assisted living. The HCI Laboratory was responsible for the adaptation architecture and end-user interface of the assistive robot solution while CVRL was involved in gesture recognition.
