A complete solution to enhance visitor experiences within Cultural Heritage Institutions (CHIs), by augmenting two dimensional paintings.
Interactive systems - Christmas Castle
The Municipality of Heraklion invited ICS-FORTH to participate in the “Christmas Castle” celebrations for a second year in a row; in fact, ICS-FORTH was alloted a bigger section of the overall facilities than the year before. As a result, AmI systems were housed in six locations, offering visitors a chance to travel in the magical world of Christmas through innovative interactive applications.
Aether
Aether is an interactive system that allows the creation of a continuous flow of an unlimited number of images through any number of computers connected through the Internet.
Interactive systems - Creative Crete

Interactive systems - Heraklion Archaeological Museum
Seven (7) interactive exhibits are scattered within the Museum and occupy physical spaces where digital technology is used to “accompany” and “explain” physical exhibits and antiquities. The installation of interactive exhibits in the premises of the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion covers the most important thematic categories of the Museum.
Ami Entrance with Password Identification
This is a system that welcomes users at the entrance of a building and requests their identification number in order to provide access in the building via voice recognition and speaker identity verification.

Interactive system - Museum of Ancient Eleutherna
The Exhibition featured Coin-O-Rama, an interactive system developed by the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), which offers visitors blow-up images of the coins on display and additional information about them. The application also enables visitors ‘to make their own coin’.
Virtual Fitting Room
Virtual Fitting Room provides motion-based interaction to the users and suggests various outfits. The system enables users to stand in front of it and see themselves wearing virtual clothes while they are able to naturally interact with the system remotely, using gestures.
Interactive system - The Environment Museum of Stymphalia
ΙCS-FORTH, in collaboration with the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation, developed an innovative interactive system, AmIDriver, that offers visitors a unique and immersive user experience to advance the Museum’s aims. The system simulates the process of collecting reeds in Lake Stymphalia, which are then composted and converted into pellets.
