ADELAIS project ambition is to develop a proof of concept prototype of a versatile laser-cleaning robotic system that will operate
as a natural skilled extension of the conservator’s experienced hand, endowed with a simple, low cost and non-destructive
monitoring sensor that will endorse the user in decision-making for confident and safe operations. The introduction of novel and
advanced robotic technologies in laser conservation procedures will ensure precise, fully controlled and safeguarded removal of
aged varnishes from paintings and inaugurate a new era boosting research and applications in both fields (laser conservation and
robotics).
