VINCE: Vendor Independent Network Control Entity
VINCE is a modular ATM switch manager written in C. Its primary function is to manipulate the ATM level routing tables in the switching fabric in response to inband signalling messages. VINCE is intended to provide a rich environment for experimentation with ATM networks. As such, it is expected to be portable across a wide variety of switch architectures, and provide bridging services between standards-based production protocols and expermental software. VINCE currently includes hardware support for the Fore ASX switch, and the SPANS signalling protocol. You can download VINCE software/documentation from

Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG)
"The Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG) is a tool to monitor the traffic load on network-links. MRTG generates HTML pages containing GIF images which provide a LIVE visual representation of this traffic. Check
http://www.ee.ethz.ch/stats/mrtg/
for an example. MRTG is based on Perl and C and works under UNIX and Windows NT. MRTG is being successfully used on many sites arrond the net. Check the
