With a long-standing tradition of bridging research with industry, the Institute of Computer Science continues to drive innovation with the establishment of yet another spin-off. YPSILON Care Tech joins a successful lineup of spin-offs from the Institute, confirming its leadership role in translating research into innovative solutions with tangible social and economic impact.

The Director of the Institute of Computer Science, Professor Dimitrios Plexousakis, stated: "For over 20 years, the Institute of Computer Science has contributed to the transformation of the healthcare sector by converting research outcomes into innovative digital health products and services. The Institute's new spin-off is staffed by experienced professionals from the Center for eHealth Applications and Services and the Computational BioMedicine Laboratory, who share the vision of advancing innovation with a positive societal impact and improving quality of life."

The establishment of YPSILON Care Tech also coincides with the commencement of the presidency of Professor Vassilis Charmandaris. Professor Charmandaris has expressed a clear intention to foster innovation through the utilization of FORTH’s scientific excellence in research, creating a strong and transparent framework for the establishment and support of new spin-offs which will address societal needs. His goal is to streamline the spin-off creation process, making it faster, more transparent, and truly supportive for researchers and innovative enterprises.
