The award-winning software “Integrated Care Solutions” (ICS), developed by the Center for eHealth Applications and Services (CeHA) of the Institute of Computer Science of FORTH successfully tested its conformance towards the IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) integration profiles in an international interoperability competency testing event, against third party vendors. The ICS passed the IHE 2023 Connectathon Week tests for nine (9) Integration Profiles and sixteen (16) actors. The testing was held during the IHE-Europe Connectathon WEEK 2023, that took place in Rennes, France between 25-29 September, 2023. More than fifty software vendors all over the world participated in this year’s event. Integration profiles tested included Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS.b), Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing of Scanned Documents(XDS-SD), Basic Patient Privacy Consents (BPPC) Patient Identifier Cross-Referencing (PIX), Audit Trail and Node Authentication (ATNA), Consistent Time (CT), Patient Administration Management (PAM), Patient Demographics Query (PDQ) and International Patient Summary (IPS).
ICS is a set of digital health applications and services, developed by CeHA, a business unit of the Institute of Computer Science of FORTH, for the global digital health market. The mission of CeHA focuses on the development of innovative, user-friendly, personalized digital tools to support effective and sustainable health services for all.
The successful testing ensures that FORTH’s “Integrated Care Solutions” is compatible with IHE integration profiles and established standards such as DICOM and HL7 to address specific clinical needs in support of optimal patient care, solving real-world interoperability problems. This ensures that the ICS software is interoperable with third party systems in the international market, is easier to implement, and enables care providers to use information more effectively.
The continuous effort of improving the quality of CeHA products and services has led in certifying its internal processes according to the international standards EN ISO 9001:2015 for quality and EN ISO 27001:2013 for information security management.
