The rapidly growing IoT ecosystem brings a whole new spectrum of applications to users and Service Providers. Thelow-latency, gigabit-speed requirements of such applications running over an exponentially increased number of connected IoT devices, producing a deluge of valuable data, bring new challenges for network architects.
How can we design low-latency, gigabit wireless IoT edge to accommodate the new disruptive applications? How can we use the valuable data collected at the edge to revolutionize user experience? In this talk, I will present an overview of my work towards designingthe next generation intelligent wireless IoT edge, which seeks to address the above challenges. My focus will be on MIMO and millimeter-wave technologies, and how they can revolutionize the connectivity and ambient analytics at the edge.
