I will cover some of the security and measurement work done by the Netsec group at Colorado State University and our collaborators at USC/ISI. The work includes measurements and observations from our global Internet monitoring infrastructure where we observe both the control and data plane. Work includes the Internet census project, BGPmon, outage detection, diurnal traffic patterns and more. This work is done in the context of several projects including RetroFuture that builds an Internet DVR, LACREND that collects and archives data for the DHS Predict project and WIT-II a system to monitor critical Internet infrastructure. I will close with a description of NetBrane, a new project that builds a system to defend against Internet-wide DDoS attacks.
