Description:

The Institute of Computer Science of FORTH (http://www.ics.forth.gr) at Heraklion, Crete, Greece, has an immediate opening for a full-time software engineer position, to work on efficient NoSQL systems for modern multicore servers in the context of an EU-funded research project.

Applicants must have:

• Undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related fields
• Strong systems building and analysis skills
• Fluency in C, C++ and Java
• Willingness and ability for cooperative work in the context of a research team

Desired skills:

• Previous work experience is desirable but not required
• Experience in the development of data processing applications
• Experience on concurrency issues, multi-threaded programming, inter-process communication
• Experience with test-based development
• Experience with performance analysis and optimization
