The CARV laboratory of the Institute of Computer Science at the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas, is seeking applicants for postdoctoral positions in Concurrent Languages and Distributed Runtime Systems. Ideal candidates would be experts in Concurrent and Distributed Languages and Systems, have a strong publication record, solid theoretical background, and proven experience in developing and extending Runtime Systems software (e.g., hadoop and map-reduce or other data query engines, dataflow systems, stream processing systems, or runtimes for distributed languages).
Required Skills:
Documented research experience in concurrent or distributed runtime systems and parallel programming languages. Ability to build and optimize distributed systems.
Desired Skills:
Experience in some of: datacenter software, map-reduce, hadoop, distributed schedulers, distributed programming languages and language runtimes (scala, erlang), dataflow computation, distributed algorithms and synchronization, concurrent and distributed data structures.
Education:
Candidates should have or be near completing of a Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
