The web portal https://digitalrepository.heraklion.gr is a platform of open multimedia data of the Municipality of Heraklion, which offers and manages digital content from tourism and cultural projects. It aims to efficiently make data, which is currently scattered and difficult to access, available to citizens, visitors to the city and local entrepreneurs or institutions. It also enables portal users (ordinary users or representatives of institutions) to upload content (photos, videos, etc.) to the portal and to create collections of selected content. 

The Information Systems Laboratory - Centre of Cultural Informatics (ISL-CCI) undertook, within the framework of the project "Digital Repository of Tourist and Cultural Content of the Municipality of Heraklion", the design of part of the functionality of the portal (https://digitalrepository.heraklion.gr), the design of the metadata for the Digital Repository, and the configuration of the Digital Repository: "Content Management System" which is based on Synthesis-Core. The content of the data repository (i.e. the audiovisual tourist and cultural content material for the web portal) is accessible through the web programming interface API on the web portal.
