DebateLab is a new funded project recently awarded to SymbAI. DebateLab is a 3-year project that started on 1/1/2020, and is planned to end on 31/12/2022. It is funded by HFRI under its 1st Call of research projects for the support of Faculty Members (DEP) and Researchers, and the procurement of high-value research equipment.

DebateLab aims to conduct research towards developing the theoretical infrastructure for representing, mining and reasoning with online arguments, while also delivering a suite of tools and services supporting the uptake and initial exploitation of the related technologies. This research will pave the way for a new Web paradigm, a modern agora, where the different types of arguments and human deliberation can be amenable to machine-interpretable representation and algorithmic processing.
