The Center for eHealth Applications and Services (CeHA) of the Institute of Computer Science, of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH-ICS) tested the conformance of the award-winning software “Integrated Care Solutions” (ICS) towards the IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) integration profiles in an international interoperability competency testing event, against third party vendors from all over the world. More specifically it passed the IHE 2022 Joint Connectathon tests for eleven (11) Integration Profiles and fourteen (14) actors/ options. The testing was held during the IHE Joint Connectathon week, that took place simultaneously in Montreux, Switzerland and Atlanta, USA between 12-16 September, 2022. Fifty-two Health IT software vendors from Austria, Germany, USA, France, Netherlands, Italy, Canada, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Finland, Switzerland, and other countries participated in this year’s event. Integration profiles tested included Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS.b), Cross-Enterprise Sharing of Medical Summaries (XDS-MS), Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing of Scanned Documents(XDS-SD), Exchange of Personal Health Record Content (XPHR), Basic Patient Privacy Consents (BPPC) Patient Identifier Cross-Referencing (PIX), Audit Trail and Node Authentication (ATNA), Consistent Time (CT), Laboratory Testing Workflow (LTW), Patient Administration Management (PAM) and Patient Demographics Query (PDQ).
ICS is a set of digital health applications and services, developed by CeHA, a business unit of the Institute of Computer Science of FORTH, for the global digital health market. The mission of CeHA focuses on the development of innovative, user-friendly, personalized digital tools to support effective and sustainable health services for all.
The successful testing confirms that FORTH’s “Integrated Care Solutions” is compatible with IHE integration profiles and established standards such as DICOM and HL7 to address specific clinical needs in support of optimal patient care, solving real-world interoperability problems. This ensures that the ICS software is interoperable with third party systems in the international market, is easier to implement, and enables care providers to use information more effectively.
The continuous effort of improving the quality of CeHA products and services has led in certifying its internal processes according to the international standards EN ISO 9001:2015 for quality, EN ISO 27001:2013 for information security management, and EN ISO 13485 for the design, development, supply, configuration and technical support services for software as medical device for IVD.
