Dr. Georgios Ioannidis is a mathematician graduated from the Mathematics Department at the University of Crete. His interest in medical imaging led him to take the Master Degree from the Applied Mathematics Department. His Ph.D was focused on the quantification of perfusion studies with non-ionizing (Magnetic Resonance) and low dose Computed Tomography protocols. Currently he is a collaborating researcher at the Computational Bio-Medicine Laboratory (CBML) of the Institute of Computer Science at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) under the Post-Doctoral Scholarship from the “Stavros Niarchos Foundation – FORTH Fellowship” within the project ARCHERS: Advancing Young Researchers’ Human Capital in Cutting Edge Technologies in the Preservation of Cultural Heritage and the Tackling of Societal Challenges. His recent research interests are mainly focused on machine learning, medical data analysis and the quantitative evaluation of breast perfusion with Ultra-Sound Contrast Enhanced (CEUS) imaging.
