Advanced Services over Wireless Access Networks for Visitors and Tourism Organization in Crete – Wireless Information Service (CRETE-WISE)

Scope

The project's goal is the development and the evaluation of advanced services, information and telecommunications, in wireless access points with the required Quality of Services (QoS). For the achievement of this goal:

  • they will be developed and evaluated by piloting implementations innovative techniques: for the QoS in heterogeneous wireless and wired networks, for transferring multimedia materials and for supporting real time applications.
  • they will be developed pilot services with innovative character for targeting the update of tourist product on Crete, and more specify the QoS which are provided in Creta Aquarium, in Natural History Museum and in Heraklion Port.
  • they will be utilized with the use or the expansion of them in the context of the project, in existing infrastructures (network and wireless access points) and in places with important visitor arrivals and contents.
