The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH in the context of the projects “ASCAPE: Artificial intelligence Supporting Cancer Patients across Europe”, funded under H2020-SC1- DTH-2018-2020 supporting code analysis tasks, development and deployment of IT tools to support the action, and "SPIDER: A cyberSecurity Platform for vIrtualiseD 5G cybEr Range services" providing support to the tasks FORTH is responsible for, including security analysis and modeling, software testing and vulnerability assessment, telecommunication services deployment and emulation.

[ICS-1533] One (1) position for a PhD student
The RAVEN (Routing Attack Vulnerability Evaluation for Networks) project aims to build on further research results established during the ERC Netvolution project to build a new PoC of a BGP prefix hijacking vulnerability assessment service. Moreover, it will investigate the key challenges of the commercialization of such a service: namely, 1) estimating the associated costs and planning the optimal expansion strategy for rolling out the global peering infrastructure that is needed; and 2) defining (based on the design thinking methodology) the product offering for such a service; this is new ground for the Internet, since nothing similar exists today. The candidate will carry out assisting duties for the project, covering general research support. For the project’s technical aspects, he/she is expected to assist is software maintenance tasks, indicatively handling tasks such as overlooking the execution of distributed simulations/emulations, automating processes and assisting in writing reports.
