As part of its activities, the Center for Cultural Informatics organizes educational seminars on Cultural Informatics, Data Modeling, Data Models and Standards, Monuments' and museums' information systems, Source Material Management (digitization, classification, indexing, memorization and management), Terminology systems, etc.

[July 2025]

A summer school “CIDOC CRM Interoperability and Applications” (CCI.202205 Summer School) was held from Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25 at the main building of FORTH. The event was organized by the Centre for Cultural Informatics (CCI) of the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) of FORTH.
The school hosted 20 participants from 9 countries, ranging from postgraduate students to faculty members of international universities. The main focus of the school was the international ISO standard for cultural documentation, CIDOC CRM, which is now widely adopted globally. Notably, 40 international organizations currently participate in its development committee. The school focused on topics such as conceptual modeling, transformation, and access to cultural data using the CIDOC CRM standard, as well as on modern artificial intelligence methods and their application to real-world needs.
