The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH in the context of the EuroHPC JU-funded project NET4EXA. The NET4EXA project aims to create an advanced interconnect, which will scale to hundreds of thousands of computing nodes and will support modern HPC systems that are designed for massive AI tasks, such as the training of Large Language Models. The interconnect forms the backbone of such systems, and their overall performance is intimately tied to the scalability of the network and its tight coupling with the high-end compute elements.

AccesS is coordinated by ETHNIKO KENTRO EREVNAS KAI TECHNOLOGIKIS ANAPTYXIS (CERTH), Greece, and FORTH-ICS is a member of the project consortium. The project represents a groundbreaking initiative that aims to revolutionize the accessibility and inclusivity of smart buildings and smart cities. By leveraging advanced technologies and innovative solutions like AI, BIM and GIS, AccesS aims to create barrier-free environments, facilitate smooth mobility, and enable equal access to essential services and facilities. [ICS-2284] Call for expression of interest for one (1) BSc holder in Computer Science

We seek one experienced member for our team, with a background in Computer Science. The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH in the context of the project “Field Trials beyond 5G” (FIDAL) (Grant Agreement number: 101096146), funded under Horizon Europe, HORIZON-JU-SNS-2022 (JU-IA). FIDAL is coordinated by NOVA TELECOMMUNICATIONS SINGLE MEMBER SA (NOVA), Greece, and FORTH-ICS is a member of the project consortium. The project’s key objective is to extend and deliver (i) advanced future proof Evolved 5G test infrastructures, anticipating evolution into next SNS phase, (ii) open & accessible to support 3rd party vertical experiments, (iii) test environments for rapid prototyping and large-scale validation of advanced, forward-looking applications. The project will build on the success of 5G-PPP Phase 3 projects, producing a unified experimentation framework with Zero-Touch orchestration, reusable NetApps and secure AI as a Service capabilities. FIDAL will deploy 3 testbeds and 3 large-scale test infrastructures in Greece, Norway and Spain aiming to validate Evolved 5G technologies in a user context to maximise downstream take up, thus cultivating the ground for 6G.
