Gold Award for the Software Suite "Integrated Care Solutions" developed by CeHA, at Healthcare Business Awards 2024
The Center for eHealth Applications and Services (CeHA) received the GOLD award in the category "Compliance with International Interoperability Standards" for its Integrated Care Solutions software suite. CeHA is a pioneer in the field of interoperability and through its package of applications Integrated Care Solutions studies and it implements international standards and practices, while participating in certification actions (Connectathons, Projectathons, Hackathons) thus acting as an ambassador of the rational use of standards and practices, for an interoperability of applications and services compatible and consistent with international trends in the field of health. The prize was received by the Head of CeHA Dimitrios Katehakis, the Coordinator of the Innovation and Application Development Department of CeHA George Kavlentakis, and the Senior Software Engineer Ioannis Petrakis.
Gold Award for smartHEALTH at Healthcare Business Awards 2024
The European Digital Innovation Hub "smartHEALTH" received the GOLD award in the category "Support to Health". smartHEALTH is a One-stop-shop service, where small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, midcaps and the public sector can receive assistance to improve their business and production processes and products/services through the use of modern digital technology. The specialized expertise offered by smartHEALTH focuses on the emblematic areas of precision medicine, cancer, as well as the process of digital transformation of the public sector. The prize was received by the Director of the Institute of Computer Science, Prof. Dimitrios Plexousakis, together with Institute members.
Silver Award at the category "Digital Health Services & Medical Informatics" at Healthcare Business Awards 2024
The SILVER award in the category "Digital Health Services & Medical Informatics" was received by the Information Systems Laboratory and the Center for eHealth Applications and Services of FORTH-ICS together with the Hellenic Network of Molecular Oncology (EDIMO), for the Information Systems Ecosystem of the Hellenic Network of Molecular Oncology. The ecosystem provides tools used by clinicians and laboratory staff to record clinical and genetic information, respectively, feeding into a Clinogenetic Information Bank that can be used for research purposes. The prize was received by the Research Director Ms Irini Fundulaki, the Head of CeHA Mr. Dimitrios Katehakis, the Coordinator of the Innovation and Application Development Department of CeHA Mr. George Kavlentakis, the Senior Software Engineer Mr. Ioannis Petrakis, and the Information Security and Quality Manager Mr. Nikolaos Stathiakis .

CeHA team wins 2nd prize at Innovation Hackathon 2023 "Artemis Saitakis"
The 2nd prize at Innovation Hackathon "Artemis Saitakis" at Innodays 2023 Expo, was awarded to the team of the Center of eHealth Applications and Services of FORTH-ICS, for their novel application BONVITA: Enabling Integrated Self-Care for Improving Chronic Patient’s Wellbeing. All participating groups were invited to develop "Innovative ideas for the development of sustainable services/products for the sector of Health and Wellness". The team consisted of the members of the Center Giorgos Kavlentakis, Haridimos Kondylakis, Yannis Petrakis, Vasilis Tzikoulis and Fokion Logothetidis and it was supervised by the Head of the Center, Mr. Dimitrios G. Katehakis and the Collaborating Researcher of the Center, Dr. Angelina Kouroubali, Fellow of the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics, Coordinator Reference Site for Active and Healthy Ageing Region of Crete.

4 star Reference Site for the Innovation Partnership of Active and Healthy Aging Innovation Partnership
The Reference Site “Region of Crete ecosystem for active and healthy ageing” was awarded by the European Commission as a"4* Reference Site" on October 10, 2022, in the European Partnership for Innovation in Active and Healthy Aging. The Reference Site is a union of three Centers: the Region of Crete, the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH), and the University of Crete.

FORTH demonstrates the EEHRxF proof of concept, through Integrated Care Solutions, during the x-eHealth Hackathon for chronic disease management online event
The innovative applications of the Center for eHealth Applications and Services (CeHA) of the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) were presented on 9 June 2022, during the online X–eHealth Hackathon for Chronic Disease Management (7-9 June). More specifically, the FORTH team proof of concept showcased how the use of the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF) specifications under development can be used in both scheduled and unscheduled / emergency hospital care.

The Center for eHealth Applications & Services among the winners of the 11th NBG Seeds Innovation & Technology competition
The 4th prize, accompanied by a cash prize of € 4,000.00, was received by the Time is Brain initiative of the Center for eHealth Applications and Services of the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH-ICS), in collaboration with the Medical School of the University of Crete, during the 11th NBG Business Seeds competition. The presentation of the smart digital platform for the management of vascular strokes was made by Dr. Angelina Kouroubali (collaborating researcher at the Computational Biomedicine Laboratory of FORTH-ICS), who was the team leader. The proposal was supported by Dr Georgios Notas, Mr Nikolaos Tselas, Mr Ioannis Petrakis, Mr Georgios Kavlentakis, and Mr Fokion Logothetidis. The selection of the winners was made among the 264 proposals submitted in the competition.

ESMARTCITY Datathon Innovation Competition: High Impact Award for Smart Sense service
The Center for eHealth Applications and Services of the FORTH 's Institute of Computer Science received a high impact award for the proposed Smart Sense service that combines data of indoor temperature and humidity conditions in buildings, weather data, open public data and thus informs citizens in real time about impending changes in environmental conditions that may affect their personal health.

Ηealth Datathon 2019: The first impact award received by Mining (MedIcatioN mIsuse iN old aGe) team
The first Health Datathon organized by the Athens Medical Society, the Open Technologies Alliance and the Hellenic Society of eHealth Services and Education, started on May 16th and was successfully concluded on May 18th 2019.
The MedIcatioN mIsuse iN old aGe" (MINING) team, composed of members and associates of FORTH‐ICS (Foundation for Research & Technology Hellas - Institute of Computer Science), participated in the event and received the first impact award for its project on "Potentially inappropriate prescription of medicines to the elderly". MINING team members were: Dr. Aggelina Kouroubali (collaborating researcher at the Computational BioMedicine Lab of FORTH‐ICS), Dr. George Notas (Assistant Professor at the Medical School of UOC), Mr. Ioannis Petrakis and Mr. Nikolaos Tselas (both software engineers at the Center of eHealth Applications and Services (CeHA) at FORTH-ICS).
During the event that took place at the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation of the Athens University of Economics and Business, the teams had the support of 13 mentors, including Mr. Dimitrios Katehakis, head of CeHA.
Awards were given to the winning teams during the closing ceremony of the 45th Annual Panhellenic Medical Conference of Athens Medical Society, on May 18, 2019.

1st Prize in Hacking Health Athens for the application TimeIsBrain
The first prize for the development of an emergency management platform in hospitals went to the Institute of Computer Science of the Institute of Foundation for Research & Technology Hellas and the University of Crete, who actively participated in the first Hacking Health Hackathlon in Athens.

International SlideWiki open courseware competition: Award for the creation of the original educational course entitled "Interoperability in eHealth"
FORTH team won the International SlideWiki competition for the creation of an original training course entitled "Interoperability in eHealth". The award was received by the members of the team of the FORTH's Institute of Computer Science, Dimitrios G. Katechakis, Dr. Angelina Kouroumbali and Ioannis Karatzanis.
