Access Invaders played using vision–based gesture recognition

A standard web camera is used to track hand movement and recognize palm and finger gestures (watch the video – 12MB). This module was developed by the Computational Vision and Robotics Laboratory (CVRL) of ICS–FORTH.

Individual musical notes, irrespectively of the instrument used to produce them (e.g., by whistling, knocking a spoon against a glass, playing the guitar or the piano, or even singing) are recognised and mapped to game controls (watch the video – 5MB).
